Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Our school does not have a lot of resources to print a copy of the pledge for every student, teacher, parent, etc. to sign. If we made a banner with the oath and had the students sign the banner, would our school still be recognized at the kick-off ceremony at the State Capitol and on the Safe School web page?

A. Absolutely – you are more than welcome to design a banner or poster with the pledge and have the students sign it. The purpose of the pledge is to highlight school safety and for the communities to recognize the importance of working together for safer schools.

Q. Our school is interested in coming to the State Capitol for the kickoff. Do I need to let you know if our school will be there?

A. While it is not mandatory, it would be very helpful if we knew for sure whether your school would be participating. We want to ensure that every school present at the Capitol is recognized and acknowledged at the press conference. Therefore, it would be helpful if you let Mary Anderson know prior to the event.
